Greg Harm

Academic Background: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, McKelvie Scholar, Dean's List, member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Golden Key Honor Societies, University of Nebraska at Lincoln; Master of Arts in Legal Studies and Legal Administration, Southwest Texas State University.

Areas of Expertise: environmental regulatory enforcement, occupational licensing, statutory and legal research, labor-management relations, higher education for nontraditional students

Key Projects: Regulatory Reform Task Force

A recent addition to the Comptroller's office, Greg Harm spent five and a half years at the Texas Railroad Commission's Office of General Counsel, where he served as a paralegal in the General Law and Enforcement Sections.

Harm also served with the Nebraska Legislative Research Division, where he administered a study to identify environmentally related occupations and licensing requirements in the state, and also conducted environmental research for the Nebraska Governor's Office of Policy Research. Harm also worked for nearly two decades in industrial occupations and has expertise in labor-management relations.

Eric Stearns

Academic Background: Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing,Texas A&M University; Masters of Business Administration in Finance, Texas A&M University.

Areas of Expertise: State taxes and fees and revenue estimating

Eric Stearns has worked for the Comptroller's office as a revenue estimator since February 1998. His primary responsibilities include forecasting the hotel occupancy tax, concealed handgun fees, general business filing fees and various environmental fees. Stearns also has worked on several sales tax issues and contributed to numerous special projects, such as the Tax Exemptions and Tax Incidence Study.
